Walking in the hills of Turin
Turin – Superga – Chieri – Moncalieri
Discovering the territory surrounding TURIN means immersing yourself in a green area of inestimable value, where the slow pace of walking allows you to capture details that escape the city frenzy. Our itinerary winds along the ridges of the Great Crossing of the Hills (GTC), a suggestive route offering unique glimpses of the river network and the Alpine peaks. Starting from Turin, the path dives into nature, partially marked by the classic white and red trail signs, guiding you through the regional parks of Bosco del Vaj and the Superga Hill, until reaching the woods of Moncalieri, where wooden signage accompanies the traveler toward hidden treasures.
The beating heart of this journey is the majestic Basilica of Superga: a 17th-century masterpiece by Juvarra, it is not only an exceptional viewpoint over the city but also a place of memory housing the Royal Crypt of the Savoy dynasty.
Continuing through villages and castles, such as Bardassano and the imposing Moncalieri Castle, you can breathe in the history of a territory that has hosted great noble events. The tour concludes in the elegant “living room” of Turin, amidst the perfect geometries of the Royal Palace and the mysticism of the Holy Shroud. For those wishing to complete the experience with culture and flavor, the city offers world-class excellence such as the Egyptian Museum and the National Automobile Museum, not to mention the explosion of flavors at the Porta Palazzo market, the ideal place to taste the local delicacies that make this territory unique.
